Health Tech is an Oxymoron
This week I learned about ChatGPT. It’s the latest artificial intelligence that seriously starts to legitimately threaten humanity. Apparently it can write, code, rhyme, and reason better than humans and with just as much “humanness.” What happens when politics, “science,” and media start leveraging this technology to create and share real or fictitious stories? This technology, created by humans, can certainly be used for good. But it could all too easily be used to disseminate propaganda, perpetuate chaos and conflict, and make much of humanity obsolete - or at least the work that they do.
This real technological breakthrough that blurs the line between human and machine scares me. I don’t think humanity is ready for this level of sci-fi. At least I know that I’m nowhere near ready. I honestly miss the analog world. Rewinding tapes, reading a map, waiting for photos to develop from a disposable camera… I hardly remember these trivial tasks that naturally invited pause. It feels the collective level of patience and attention span has faded as fast as internet speeds have risen.
I find peace in knowing that “tech” has no place in health. Of course some technological advancements have led to increased health outcomes, but generally speaking, fixing disease with technology is futile and wasteful. I think about things like pacemakers, AED machines, and advancements in childbirth that have undoubtedly saved lives. However, I believe that medical tech has also diminished health and quality of life for just as many, if not more.
I’m talking about side effects from drugs, vaccines, surgeries, etc. So much of the world is “over-medicated.” Yes, most people are unhealthy, but the drugs and procedures they receive do nothing to increase health. Meanwhile the management of symptoms always comes with a cost - creating more imbalance in the body while enabling unhealthy choices and behaviors that lead to symptoms in the first place.
Did you know that most approved drugs are hardly more effective than placebo at treating the symptoms that they are approved for?
Don’t worry if you didn’t know this, there are many, many forces at play to keep such data hidden. The pharmaceutical companies that make the drugs which generate their profits also control and manipulate their scientific studies, have captured the government and FDA whom are supposed to be responsible for overseeing drug approvals, and own the media through their advertising dollars, making any sort of “news reporting” about the topic impossible. Oh ya, they also control Big Tech, thereby ensuring that any “alternative” media sources reporting on such issues are censored or blacklisted.
Fortunately, none of that really matters. Try as they will, Big Pharma can never help you create health. Health isn’t found at a doctors office. You can’t swallow it in a pill. You can’t even measure it in a lab test. Creating health is something that comes naturally and effortlessly when we are aligned with nature. Not technology or chemicals, but nature.
The people who are ready to wake up and smell reality can unplug from the matrix by unsubscribing from the Pharma-funded BS. It can be saddening to witness people line up for Kool-Aid shot after Kool-Aid shot, but they’ll wake up and smell reality some day, too.
